Is more stupid to admit that you dont know everything about how existence started, believe some theories that have been pretty well scientifically proven, and shown but continue to search for alternatives to this belief...

Or is it more stupid to undoubtedly believe that we were created by a single omniscient being who magically poofed into existence, without evidence and not even try to think of other possibilities?

Evolution is a proven fact, so the answer follows immediately.

The second one is bad, since you stop thinking for yourself. You close your field of view and criticism and think that all will be well because of that one theory you have integrated. How did you get to that theory in the first place? By exploring, reasoning and thinking about it, weighing it besides other things you found, discarded, etc. What usage does it have to stick to that one thing and never explore again, always think that what you found is the best thing there is?

You can compare it with music: if you like a particular song or record very much, you can listen to it for days, weeks, months, years. But while it's nice to keep listening to things you like, there are other bands or songs you could like as well, but because you stick to those selected songs and records, you would never discover them. 2 years ago, I would have died for Coldplay, but eventually I stopped listening to them and found Deftones a pretty good group as well, just like Massive Attack and Rachmaninov.

Why wouldn't it be the same with anything else in life? Be it religion, used software, leisure activities, sports, book genres, favorite actors and movies, etc.

With all things, I think it's better to get a bit of each and change often between them, since it works a like drinking or eating: the more you keep drinking/eating the same thing, the more it's going to be interpreted as common. The magic of discovering it will fade away. In order to keep it special, you have to set it away for a while so it can recharge, so you can discover it's pureness, it's beauty again after a while.

So is what I did especially with reiki. I love this form of alternative medicine, but I'm never ever going to use it 24/7/365, since I've got other things to do AND it would become so common that I would eventually drop it, since the magic would be gone. Even in relationships, this counts: the more your going to look in each others face every day, the less you are going to see what made you stick together in the first place.

Less is more!

You gotta believe in something! You know I don't believe scientists because these are theories....and theories have been wrong in the past. example: In middle ages people didn't bathe because they thought it would lower their resistance to disease and they thought the world was flat. I also believe some of the Bible is lost in translation because there are words in Hebrew that do not exsist in English. I believe in God though and I believe he created it but how it all came about will always have gaps and holes in information and will always be a mystery.

You actually said that some theories that have been pretty well scientifically proven? What theories are those? Science ALWAYS says that life comes from life. No where is it proven that life came from lifelessness. To believe that concept is to believe in a real fairy tale... Jim

and if you understood, that you behave,
like just cause you can choose it,
means you have to loose it,

like not everyone god made is just like you

It's not a matter of stupidity, it's a matter of having a faith you can live with and that comforts you. Is it more stupid to accept that some people find solace in their beliefs or is it more stupid to try and belittle them when it's not going to change what they believe?

If you had ever experienced the glory and majesty of the Creator of the Universe, then you'd also know the answer to this question.

I think your question is insulting ! Nevertheless, I believe it takes more Faith to believe in Evolution, the"Big Bang" and all that, than to Believe The Bible account of Creation.

No all that is stupid. It is more reasonable to believe like me that I know every thing about how existence started an no one else can tell me anything.

It seems to be that the worst comes from not questioning how you were created. If one simply believes in God and nothing else, questions are not asked, and new choices and changes are not accepted.
