People worship these "gods" because they don't really know what to believe and it gives them a confortable feeling. For many years I was a lost soul. I didn't think I believed in Jesus because I was taught so many erronious things about him that my mind was confused and I sought comfort in these "gods" who for many were what I would call "make what you want out of them gods" If I wanted to believe that my "god/goddess" was all powerful then it was so, if I wanted to believe that my "god" let Christians live to show us how not to be then I believed it. What had happened to me, and to many Pagans out there as well, is that we had a VERY VERY bad experience in a church (usually of the protestant evangelical nature) that left us bitter, and in pain and these gods we made were more to us than anything we had experienced in the Christian church. Eventually though, when the roads get tough enough and you get to the true rock bottom you look up and you will either find the one true God or you give up totally trying to find him and it isn't until they are willing to recieve that love from the one true God that he can show them himself. It's wierd, but that's my experience.

I believe that until certain point they are that ignorants and they not have the sufficient value to acquire the Faith to believe in an alive God, the Idolatry is something that you can even touch is many but idols in the real life is also alike the work for example, the love to the money, but returning to the dead idols its true the powers they have came from Satan, for that reason they believed that power came from God but it is a lay the miracle came from evil force.

Where on earth did you get the idea that the gods of other people are demons? It's not an idea found in the Bible. It doesn't come out of Jesus' mouth.
Where exactly, are the "other gospels" where people like you come up with the nonsense.
Furthermore, doesn't it bother you, even in the slightest, that the Bible says "ΜΗ ΚΡΙΝΕΤΕ ΙΝΑ ΜΗ ΚΡΙΘΗΤΕ ΕΝ Ω ΓΑΡ ΚΡΙΜΑΤΙ ΚΡΙΝΕΤΕ ΚΡΙΘΗΣΕΣΘΕ ΚΑΙ ΕΝ Ω ΜΕΤΡΩ ΜΕΤΡΕΙΤΕ ΜΕΤΡΗΘΗΣΕΤΑΙ ΥΜΙΝ."
I mean, what makes you think that your god is not going to follow up on his threat that if you judge, you will not be judged by him but by the judgement you have placed on others?
I'm assuming you know your Bible, here. Maybe that is assuming too much of a Christian on this forum.

"Bad" Buddhist's post on deity worship is tantra and should only be practiced when your lama tells you it's wise to proceed after much sutra-level training... he/she's right though about what is said, it's a tool used to help the mind cultivate the qualities in this (non-omnipotent) deity within OURSELVES. Spending time directing one's attention to "idols" (i.e. statues etc.) in Buddhism is done as a way of showing gratitude to the Buddha (or other teacher) like one looks at a picture of a loved one and thinks loving thoughts... just a "tool" to remind us of that person.
Catholics are the same way, they DO NOT worship statues... just in case you wanted that clarification too... they see the statues as a "reminder tool" of the people whose qualities they wish to emulate (like the Blessed Mother, for example) or give thanks to.

What about idols of stone and wood (homes); idols of paper and plastic (money); idols of metal (hot cars); American Idol; idols of entertainment (TV, computers, radios, mind bending drugs, alcohol, tobacco, sex, etc);power; etc.
People of intelligence who worship gods of stone or mud often say the idol is not real and they know that, but what they worship is a concept such as happiness, peace, solace, passion, rest, honor, fairness, justice, integrity, courage, safety, etc

Being as statues were once the images of that is time alongside with carvings do then you definately advise you and something else people deplete all our images and photographs of family individuals and friends and quit searching at them so no longer be accused of worshiping them. that is sad that people with minds as yours and obviously lower than the administration of a cult are so really fooled via your cults teachings.

In Buddhism, there is what's called 'deity yoga' where you imagine yourself as a deity (usually a deity of compassion).
It's like an actor 'becoming' a character. It is done to realize the something you can only imagine, but is not taken literally.
This is what Christians do with Jesus except most insist it is literal.

lifeless???? are you daft. something had to make this beautiful world and it sure as my foot that it was not one almighty god. one some males can make beauty but then they can not purposely make pain and uglyness. there had to be a female behind this. "I givith life and I can takith away" My Shinigami has given you your life and one day will take it away. it's her job. I wish this not apon you but when it happons you will see her face smiling at you. and i will take my time saying "I told you so." demons, angels, and these other make believe things are in your head.... you may want to get it checked. and before you look at our religian you may want to look at your own. I left christianity as soon as I was old enough to look up it's history. too much blood for my hands. at least us Pagan's can learn from our history. When will you?

My Gods and Goddesses are not "lifeless idols" nor are they "demons"... To me, the Æsir and Vanir are more real than your God ever was.
