If I sell my new car to someone else? Do that person still have to pay taxes on it in California?

My car loan is about $21,200 and I am getting $21,200 for my car. How long with the transfer fee in addition?

DMV will charge you a fee to act as "sales tax". Just go to local DMV to do the transfer and they'll tell you how much.

You *could* understate the value of the vehicle, but that MAY get you in trouble if you do it too much.

most likely but they dont pay you they pay the dmv. unless your a nice person and make it look like it was a gift
