depends if you include the other acts that interprit the 10
but the ten is really more than mere ten
yet they are a good beginning
ruled by good and love
the ten alone will be enough
ruled by fear and hate
only having the ten its then too late
by deeds /works will we be known
but rules not taught
but on love alone
law alone
wil but give reason to oppress or shame
blame or worse
then but ten would seem as curse
litteral but bad interpritation can make good seem perverse
to whom much is given much was expected
perhaps too much?but yet man what is worse?

Most religions uphold a moral code of conduct and I feel that if people would just be truly devout to their religions the world would be a better place....but living by the 10 commandments sure wouldn't hurt

it would be a better world if only ONE of the world's major religions lived by the ten commandments, but none of them do. it's just a list of rules used to judge and condemn others.

HELL NO!

The ten commandments aren't that good and more than half of the have to do with worshiping the Christian deity.

I'd rather follow the Nine Noble Virtues, thank you very much.

The world would be a better place if everyone (including Christians) lived by Jesus's *one* commandment..

Love one another.

I would think if they could master even one it would be a vast improvement.
However I would much rather see them become born again, receive the Spirit of Christ, and begin to live in obedience to Christ's command to love one another as He loved us.

Yes. Especially those heathen pagans.

1. I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery; you shall have no other gods before me.

2. You shall not make for yourself an image, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me, 6but showing steadfast love to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments.

3. You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not acquit anyone who misuses his name.

4. Remember the sabbath day, and keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work. But the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work—you, your son or your daughter, your male or female slave, your livestock, or the alien resident in your towns. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but rested the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day and consecrated it.

5. Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

6. You shall not murder.

7. You shall not commit adultery.

8. You shall not steal.

9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

10. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or male or female slave, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.

It cannot be done ( read Romans in the New Testament) That is the point...humans can't be "good" enough to be friends with God, so He arranged to come and make the necessary sacrifice so that thru faith in Him we could be friends and beloved. Isn't He incredible?

If all religions were centered on serving God and Jesus Christ then, and only then, we would have peace on earth.
