I think it is getting harder and harder to fool people with the technologies that we have today. We many not understand how they work, but know that they are being used (such as special effects and computer graphics in the movies and tv) I work in television and am getting my MFA in Theatrical Lighting, and even on stage it's amazing what we can do. People know it's fake, but still enjoy seeing it.
These kinds of things are much different then belief from religious faith, which comes from a very personal experience.

Why do the heathens rage.
The believers protection against such deception involves utter loyalty to God....and His inspired word. And the knowledge that men of great charisma are used by satan.
1 Tim 4:1
Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last days some will turn away from what they believe;they will follow lying spirits and teachings that come from demons.

Matthew 24 : 24- Jesus speaking,"For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and produce great signs and wonders,to lead astray even the very elect (saved),if that were possible".
You will then know who is saved and isn't because it will be hard even for the saved to resist this coming Anti-Christ and his false Prophet.
But remember this. These will be new converts because the older more mature in the ways of the Lord were "Raptured",caught up to meet the Lord(I Thessalonians 4:14 - 18) before the Anti-Christ is reveled to mankind. All those Christians were saved after the Rapture.

No, thus where my name comes from. Did you know that being skeptical was a sin...someone told me that, lol. Its not of course...but it can be a detriment at times.
Regarding my religious beliefs...I choose to believe in God by faith. I also believe in optical illusions.

Because Jesus performed much bigger feats than bending spoons WITHOUT CEREMONY. He just said, 'get up and walk' or 'Lazarus come out". No incantations, no robes or symbols, no crosses and insence burners...nothing. Would a charlatan or magician ever do that? I think not.

What would people have thought if a David Blaine had shown up
at one of Christs sermons, would he give Jesus a run for his money, or would they have crucified David Blaine 3 years ahead of Jesus?

There is no difference between advanced technology and thionking it is a mystery of God. Here's the truth.....When people don't understand something they create their own answers based on biases.
