i remember reading somewhere online that when you are looking at a computer moniter, you tend to blink less, and blinking is what keeps your eyes moistened. when your eyes get dried out they can feel strained and soar. the reason it messes with your far sight is because you were focusing up close for too long. try taking breaks in between your computer time. like 15 minutes on then 10 off then go back, instead of focusing only on the screen for say an hour. also, use eye drops.

Go see a doctor you have eye strain. You either need eye glasses or reading glasses. Also push your chair back from your computer and put a good light by the machine and use it also look away from the screen regularly to refocus your eyes. You may help to hold the eye damage down. Good Luck

try closing your eyes for five seconds every now and then, dont stay on the computer for more than two hours, radiation irks! eyedrops helps..if it still hurts, then lay off computers for a whole week! some eye doctors feel that they know everything, and yet, they really dont unless they are experiencing your problems and usually recommend that you wear glasses, if you dont have glasses yet, dont start, smoke dries out your eyes so if you are smoking then dont do it while you are in front of the machine, and if all else fails ask your mama, she usually has most of the tender-loving care you need...:-)

Better consult your ophthalmologist or even an optometrist about your problem.
It would also help to relax your eyes after 30 minutes or so of staring at the monitor. Focus your vision to other things away from the PC monitor. Something green in color would help.
