I am trying to find out how much hiring a home organizer would cost, do they normally work hourly, or is it a flat rate? Also, if I hire one, will He/She be helpful? Thanks!

Take a look at this article, it may answer some of your questions. http://www.onlineorganizing.com/FindAnOrganizer.asp?content=C03OrganizerFAQs

Usually, organizers charge by the hour -- but you are the one to decide how many hours they put in. That is, you can have someone come over for an hour or two to tell you exactly how to proceed... or at the opposite extreme, you can hire the organizer to do all the work. In between, you could get someone to make a plan with you and then keep an eye on you from time to time to make sure you're really doing your homework :-)

This won't really help you, ut in the US, rates vary from 40 to 200 dollars an hour. It depends on how much experience they have, how high-end their clients are, and especially on where you live.
