Incorrect. You can stay for as long as is stamped on your I-94 or I-94W at POE (Port Of Entry). You also need a visa or entering under the VWP (Visa Waiver Program). It is up to the CBP officer as to how long your visit will be.

depends...if you are part of the visa waiver program...you don't need a visa. (you can stay 90 days only though) if you aren't, then you need some type of visa. the 6 month thing is a tourist visa. this is USUALLY the amount of time it's good for (at any continous period of time) but the border guard who checks you in to the US is actually responsible for that. it's standard to say 6 months, but they don't have too.

From many countries I think it is only 90 days. And often you need a visa (China is not a visa waiver country.) You can check it out through our State Department web page, though, I would think.

how about your visa? if you pass all the requirements then yeah... but if you only have passport, well, i dont really think thats the most important thing to do 1st.
