This is the story of the Transfiguration of Jesus, which interestingly enough follows Peter's profession of faith that Jesus is the Messiah. When Jesus asks the disciples who they say He is, Elijah is mentioned, as are the prophets. Then, in this scene He is seen in the company of Moses and Elijah and the disciples are told to listen to Jesus. This seems to emphazise that Jesus is God and that He is the one we ought to be listening to. The prophets were important and had words of wisdom, but God Himself has now come and we are to listen to Him.

God had the two "greatest" OT prophets talking with Jesus.
God said Listen to His son (even above them).
