I live in Iowa and am the only employee for a small business, so insurance is ridiculous. Right now I'm using American Republic Health Insurance, and every few months they raise the fees even when I haven't gotten ill! I'm really sick of this, is there any decent health coverage in Iowa for small businesses?

You may want to try a website that compares multiple companies at once to get you the best price. I am paying less than ½ after I did.

Go to: http://www.insureme.com/landing.aspx?Refby=616163&Type=health

Take care,
Casey

I have found the source box to be a good resource for this type of insurance. There are a variety of ways to go about this so I suggest you research some of the companies for their offers.

There are a few different things to keep in mind if you are self employed and looking for health insurance. A good article for those who are self employed or are contemplating making the "leap" and are concerned about health insurance options is at: http://www.healthquote360.com/Individual_Health_Insurance/Self_Employed_Health_Insurance.htm

Do NOT go with Principal!!! They're overpriced, exclude everything, and pain to deal with. Stick with BC/BS.

I have friends who've worked for Principal, stay away. BC/BS covered everything except for birth control. It's worth it though.
