Dog

I have had both and it really depends on what your living arrangement is, how much time you have for a pet, and your personality. A cat is good if you are generally busy, away from the house for long hours each day, have an apartment or smaller home because they don't require as much training, don't have to be walked, and poo in a litter box. A dog is good if you have the time to train it, exercise it, take it out to go to the bathroom, and keep a pretty routine schedule. Dogs are much more dependent on people while cats are more independent. Cats are better at entertaining themselves, dogs want to play with you frequently. It really depends on you, your situation, and what you are looking for. When I had my cat, my situation was perfect for him and I wouldn't have traded him for the world. My situation has changed, I have more time and resources, and I have a dog now. I wouldn't give her up for the world now.

I would personally go for a dog. Both cats and dogs are loving and happy to see you all the time!! Dogs take a bit more time becuase they need walking and more attention but they also like to be around you a lot. Cats often spend a lot of time on their own. So it is all up to you. Why don't you get both, they do get on, i know people who have cats and dogs!

get a dog! dogs do tricks and luv 2 play and interact wit you. cats jus lay around sleeping all day. i suggest a Sheltie, cuz they learn VERY quickly. once they learn where their boundaries are, for example, in their yard, they nevr leave their own yard.
