It is not sinful to listen to music that may be considered by some to be offensive or controversial. You are put on this little planet to experience life, not be sheltered from it. Listen to it. If you like it, then you like it. Regardless of what the Bible people will tell you, God will not cast you into the fiery pit of sulfur and damnation for enjoying some good tunes. Because if that is the God they are pushing on you, it doesn't seem he really cares about you. You don't want to worship THAT god do you?
Enjoy your rap music. You might even discover you have rhythm after all.

* If you're talking about music genre, i would say there's none...
How can you judge that something is sin or not?
If you're a Christian, the Holy-Bible has told you specificcaly what is sin... And i never read anything in the Bible that said that some kind of music genre or some kind of musical instrument are sin...
You see, music was created by God, God created Lucifer the Angel of worship - music as the greatest Angel of all, that's mean the Lord created music and Love it so much...
* If you're talking specificcally about a title of music, then there is.
There are only 2 sides in this world, the light and the dark, the good and the evil.
If a sum of million dollar, taken 1 dollar from it, it cannot be called a million dollar anymore...
If a 24K Gold was added by a miligram of silver, then it's not a pure gold anymore... Even thou in this case it still has it's value, while the good was more like a bottle of good milk, when added a drop of poison, it's not a good milk anymore, it's but a bottle of poison.
Holy-Bible said that anything that doesn't came from the God are from Satan.
And i would said something similar.
Anything You do that doesn't for God, are for Satan...
What was the music about? if it's not for the Glory of God, it's not worshiping the God, then its Glorify and Worshiping the devil...
In the end it's up to You, would you worship the Devil?
Hope this help
Bless You

Some can be very sinful. If we listen to even things that we may not like the words but take in into our being daily, it gets to working on us in ways that we do not understand and becomes more us than we want it to. If you do as God suggests, you will put away any of the music that is not good and profitable for you to listen to even if you like the tune, it can be really bad for you in the long run.

I don't think you are committing a sin by listening to certain music. It may not be righteous living but I don't actually think you are sinning.
What is a sin is to cause others to stumble in their walk with God. I do believe that anyone who makes music (or songs) with the intent of influencing others to "stumble" is committing a sin.
If you want more information about this, speak to your clergyman or woman who can give you biblical references.

Music itself can't be sinful. There are some songs with lyrics that encourage "sinful" behavior.

Maybe some, like Bad Religion and Anti-Flag (esp. the song F*ck the Pope).
Both really good bands. I'd also stay away from Christian Death if I were you.
Shame...

Is it a sin to desire happiness? Your inquiry is just one piece of a larger pie.

i'm a christian and as Christians satan can't posses us, but he can use words and images from music and television to put unholy thoughts or images into our minds in a moment of weakness. Its just best not to watch or listen to anything that isnt pleasing to God. In my house if it breaks the 10 commandments or something that i wouldnt want my children to see or hear in real life then we dont sit and watch it with them. Just pray and God will lead you. God bless
