The beach at Moeraki, where these boulders are situated is 1 km from the town of Hampden (to the north)and 1 km from the port at Moeraki Village (south).
The Boulders are 1 hour 15 mins north of Dunedin and 35 minutes south of Oamaru.
The boulders are concretions of limestone that have taken many thousands of centuries to form and in the last 100 years have all but disappeared because someone thought they should be ground up to make cement.
I live here, overlooking the Boulders. Great, eh!
