my grandmas neighbors abused his dog who weighed 5 ibs and practically was killing him and my grandma called the animal cops thing or whatever and they gave the dog to my grandma and she gave it to me and when we brung it home it shook as if it was dying its very sad my oldest daughter was practically crying after she heard that

Yes-i think it is horrible anyone can be so downright cruel to any source of life,but especially an animal!All the pets i get-or will ever get are rescued pets in search of forever homes!The pedigree commercial on animal planet makes me really sad :(
But,people see this and still breed and bye puppy's!They think pound puppy's are imper fact because most are mutts,but a pure breed is two original breeds mixed together!There's only one difference-a price tag!Its like being able to get a brand new 2006 car for free or buying a used 2007 car!They just see the newest line and best breed lines-that don't think of anyone else :(

it is very sad to see the commercials and shows that show these poor animals, but i think it makes to public aware of the fact that they are CRAZY people who do this to these creatures. maybe if someone sees these shows and they notice an animal being abused they will notify the authorities. and for the people who abuse animals there is no punishment good enough for them. i live close to atlanta where those two boys put the puppy in the oven and burned it to death. Now even children much younger than them know that that is wrong. we should put all animal abusers on an island somewhere with no food, or shelter and let it be survial of the fittest!!!! that would fix them

Ab-so-lutely! There are few things sadder than the plight of an abused dog, or any animal for that matter. Someone once wrote that the greatness of a nation can be measured by how the weak and helpless are treated. All animals, not just dogs, are weak and helpless when faced with deliberate human cruelty. For me, its especially heart-rending when a dog is mistreated. This is a creature who dreams, plays and trusts. If there is any other creature more loyal, trusting and loving, I don't know what it is. Again, for me, I agree with the bumper sticker that says "the more I learn about people, the more I like my dog."

certain,fairly to my daughter. We in Switzerland have voted that pets are a family member individuals in case you save them,yet in the journey that they are abused, there are fines like $10'000 or 6 months reformatory. cattle are to receive continually water to drink and now no longer than 2 hours left on a shipping. The saddest element is,there are nevertheless those who don't realize that adult men are not any more the owner of the earth. there is an section for each creature. For the count number of abused bulls in Spain,i in my opinion would opt for to choke the matador myself and word how a lot discomfort a bull can sense!

What I think is sad, is some people are ignorant enough to do things like that! My dad brought home 2 that had been abused before, and we had to work with them for 2 years to get them fully out of their "shyness," to put it nicely. Anyone abusing an animal should have same thing done to him...in my opinion.

Absolutely, that's why I have recently rescued a 8 YO Doberman that was abused. If anyone out there has a heart they wouldn't do it. Dogs are not for everyone, only the people that has the finances, respect for each breed and ability to train them properly.

Yes, I do. I think that is the purpose of those commercials and t.v. shows. By showing those poor things they hope to either have you use their product or to help animals. They play with your emotions to get you to think their way. It is very persuasive.

right now im watching Miami Animal Police (on animal planet) and as much as i love this show its so sad. I wish I could save all of those animals.

I think that people who abuse animals are in need of a psychiatrist.I'm serious.I won't even try to understand what is going on in their psycho mind!
