Go to a store that sells paint. Walmart has good paint and isn't going to be really expensive. They can color match paint to any color you bring in. Take home as many paint sample cards as you can. Take what you like and also what ya think might be a good color but not sure. Colors always look different in a store than they do in your home. Also, what will look good with the furniture that you have. If undeceided, pick out a painting or fabric that you like, colors etc. Pick your color scheme from that and then display the painting or use the fabric in curtains or at least a pillow.

This probably won't be your favorite answer, but your first course of action might be to paint the trim a neutral color. This would allow you alot more freedom in choosing decor and wall colors, plus it just generally looks more upscale.
If you do choose to keep it, I would go with varying shades of tan. Behr paint from Home Depot has the best rating for coverage, which means you might pay more for it, but you won't have to do as many coats. Also matte finish is hard to keep clean.

Pale yellow looks GREAT with dark green. I would re-think the dark color trim, though. don;t forget that dark colors make things looks smaller..it may make everything look too-closed in.
