A virtual school is a homeschooling program through the internet. CAVA - is the California Virtual Academy - it website is www.caliva.org That's really the only one I know of, but if you google "virtual academy" I sure there are a lot more. Make sure you find one that is accredited - if not colleges don't accept the diplomas.

Well, seeing that many have already answered your question, I will only say that Virtual Schools are a great way of educating your student. I was home schooled in a charter school, and then switched over to a virtual school, and already I have increased my learning speed by 55%. It is also an easier way for your student to learn if they like computers, and prefer them over textbooks.

as far as the schoolwork its probably pretty much the same but you can work (with FLVS anyway) anytime you want. theres no set times that you have to be on but you are expected to do a certain amount of work a week. I'm homeschooled and i use FLVS.net to do almost all of my work. I do some stuff on my own (like just interesting stuff) but most of the important stuff (like algebra and junk) i do through there. but its really very different from a regular school. there are also students that do extra work with the virtual school like learning other languages and there was actually a drivers ed class and PE it sounds pretty sad but whatever just lettin ya know its not exclusively for homeschool nerds (like myself)

It is the same but different. You study on line in your own home. You miss all the fun of school mixing with mates. It is ideal for people who live in the `wilderness` or on a desert island where proper schooling is not available. You can get help from on-line tutors and they will mark your tutorial/home-work. You need to have strength of will to do this, as there is no one compelling you to get up and go each morning.

No. A virtual school is taught online. You do not go and attend the class. There are instructors available to answer your questions and grade your homework.

I run an English Online school. Check out the website for an example. There are many more, but if you like it, tell your friends!

Most of the cybers are state specific -- I don't know of any national schools.
Try googling "cyber school" or check your state's department of education website
