Why is abortion used as a form of contraception-after all it is actually KILLING an unborn child?

yes.it is disgusting how easy and convenient they have made it for a girl to commit a murder.i know of too many girls who practice unsafe sex simply because their boyfriend would give them money for an abortion if they needed it.......how sick and immoral this generation is!

Contraception means no conception occurs, therefore abortion cannot technically be contraception because the conception has already resulted in pregnancy.

Clearly you have a strong agenda about abortion and that is certainly your right. It would be beneficial to look at the bigger picture, however.

Now that we have established that by definition no abortion can be used as contraception, let's consider some other points.

First, no one likes abortion. No one is glad it happens. People don't do it for fun. Not the people who perform them. Not people who oppose abortion. Not the women who have them. Everyone would like for there to never be a reason for another abortion to occur. That much both sides of the argument have in common. (That idea probably surprises many pro-life people. The other side doesn't "like" abortion, either.)

What if the woman's or girl's life is in danger if she carries the baby to term? Which life gets precedence? We would be killing the woman or girl if the baby's life continued and we could have stopped it. We would be killing the baby if we did an abortion. In that case, no one wins. You're a "murderer" (to use your term) whichever way you go.

What if the father was a rapist, pedophile or incestuous relative? In these cases the woman or girl wasn't a willing participant in the act and to bear the child could be traumatic.
She doesn't choose to engage in the sex act. She doesn't choose to become pregnant. She isn't careless or lazy about birth control or promiscuous. Yet these discussions always blame the woman- and force her to pay the price for what her attacker did to her.

Where is the father in all of this? (I agree- he should be involved in the decision to get or not to get an abortion... and he should stand up beside the mother, but by virtue of not carrying the child in his belly, that rarely happens.)

It would be really nice if this much emotionality were poured into keeping families together, teaching young people about responsibility (BOTH sexes, not just girls!). Oh, and how about caring for kids who are already alive??

Here's perhaps my biggest peeve. The very people that rant about abortion are often those who don't want the government to assist in the care of children who have already been born. They are worried about unborn children but don't care one whit about them after they are breathing air.

You can't have it both ways. I hate it that many women resort to abortion- that they are reduced to that terrible decision. They hate it, too. But I find the arguments against abortion are often very limited, very blindered, willing to see only what they want to see.

Pour your energy into caring for low-income children. Pour your energy into lobbying for heath care for mothers and children. Then I'll be open to listening to your discussions about how bad abortion is.

I recant. I already know how bad it is. Unfortunately it's not a simple right vs. wrong decision. If only it were that easy.

no its not contarception, contraception stops the egg from being fertilized or being embedded in the womb it does not terminate a pregnancy. and abortion is terminating a fetus not a child. a fetus doesn't even ahve a heart beat until 5 weeks in. would you say an omlet is just killing an unborn chicken? women should ahve choices? what they do is up to them not everyone else. everyone else wont be in labour and have a living thing look to them for everything. so everyone should stop asking these dumb questions!!!! everyone will never agree on this subject ever!!! your opinion is your opinion and should be kept to your self.

Because people are selfish. They weigh their own desires against their baby's life, and their desires win out.

And, yes, it is an undeniable biological fact that every abortion kills an innocent human being. By the time most women know they are pregnant (just 3 weeks after conception), their baby's heart is already beating. Virtually no abortions are committed before 6 weeks, at which point the baby has tiny fingers and recordable brain waves. The average age of an aborted baby in America is 10 weeks. At 8 weeks, the child is full-formed, with all her organs functioning. She can suck her thumb, and if her palm is pricked, she will open her mouth and pull her hand away.

abortion is not a form of contraception .that is first degree murder should be punished as is.if people don't want children and don't know how to keep from getting them they should have their legs sewed together.there are too many people out there that want kids very badly and can.t have them.that is a slap in their face when they hear of someone having a abortion.it is WRONG.at least they could give them to someone who wants kids.that is only my opinion i could never have a abortion.i was told by my doctors that i should never have any more kids after my 5 child because of my heart.well i ended up pregnant again.they were really mad.my heart doctor was so mean to mean but i didn't't't;t care .i had my baby and he is fine and i am too.they didn;t want me too but who are they to tell me that ;that baby didn,t ask to be born i asked that baby to be born by opening my legs up so if it meant me dying well i was willingly to take that chance because that baby deserved a chance .i gave him that chance.i love him more than life itself .i could not even imagined doing what the doctors wanted me to do .i had my healthy 7 pounds 1 ounce son on July 6 2006.he is the most sweetest child in the world and now because i chose not to abort him he has a chance at life.yes i was willingly to give my life for him and still would any day any time any where

Since it is not born yet it is not murder. Something has to actually be born to die. The item in question is ATTACHED to another person's body. There is no difference between it and say your arm. If you cut your arm off you are not committing murder unless you let yourself bleed to death. The arm by itself is not alive. As for abortion being used as a form of contraception your narrow minded thinking is whats causing the problem in the first place. If you were not so obsessed with making everyone bend to your will you would understand that sex is a part of life and promote birth control. But since you try to prevent contraceptives being used the end result is more abortions. Would be nice if just once one of you right to life people actually tried talking about life.

I understand what you mean when you say that abortion is used as a form of contraception....if you are NOT using birth CONTROL and you get pregnant (which you are fully aware can happen) and you have an abortion in order to prevent an unwanted pregnancy then you have just used abortion as a form of BIRTH control. You can spin it any way you want, it doesn't change the facts.

I don't know anyone who uses it as a form of contraception but I do know a fetus isn't a child until it can live on it's own outside the mother's uterus. This is why abortion is legal until a certain point in the pregnancy.

People find that killing a child is easier then stepping up and taking care of their responsibilities. I'm a pro-lifer but in some cases I believe it is not totally horendous i.e. rape, incest, or both lives are in jeopardy. However is some little ho goes running around and gets knocked up then this shouldn't even be an alternative but in this day and age personal responsibility has taken a back seat to self-gratification. Problems like this will continue until this country gets back to its roots...the Bible.

i'm professional-determination. One, this is not my place to tell a female what she will and can't do along with her physique. i'm going to declare, besides the undeniable fact that, that on an analogous time as i think of abortion could desire to continuously be criminal and available, it disgusts me how a lot of people in simple terms have them because of fact they have been too stupid to apply a condom or beginning administration. i'm getting that many circumstances, injuries take place and the beginning administration fails. positive. pondering the emotional problems that plague maximum women persons/couples submit-abortion, i don't evaluate myself somebody worth of judging everyone who has an abortion. i don't suggestions funded clinics like planned parenthood offering abortions, the two. If a female/female is raped, molested, is bodily incapable of having a infant with out serious wellness problems, or has a valid reason for wanting an abortion with out being waiting to pay for it, positive. the only time i in my view have a situation is whilst a fetus is aborted in simple terms as a sort of beginning administration.

Abortion is MURDER...once a baby has brain wave (usually 2 weeks) the baby is a human being. No woman knows she is pregnant until she is AT LEAST 2 weeks pregnant!
