What you are describing is depression, not neccessarily bipolar.
Medications such as Prozac or Sertraline, Venlafaxine could all be of help to you. Therapy is always the best way to sort things out, then you can get to the bottom of things and find reasons. Bipolar depression can be much more severe and have psychotic like symptoms. You are also suffering from anxiety which goes along with depression. This is what is causing you the tight chestedness. Sleeping habits change with depression too, and appetite.
Hope this helps.

I'm not a doctor but, maybe you should have your blood sugar tested (glucose) . It sounds to me that you may be suffering from Hyperglycemia...which is low blood sugar. or maybe the reverse Hypoglycemia ...high blood sugar...once diagnosed following a glucose test it is treatable. My daughter had hyperglycemia & had lots of anxiety....she corrected her diet...no caffeine, no sugar, no fried foods, no junk....she is doing much better....did your doctor check your blood sugar? Sometimes doctors just like to diagnose without checking individuals blood sugar...it plays an important part in our health...mentally, emotionally, physically. I hope you get this done...Good luck.

Being bi-polar can cause depression.

See a psychiatrist: don't expect answers to questions like this from idiots like us on the Internet.

sounds bipolar to me...does your mind race a lot, get hyper for seemingly no reason, and at inappropriate times, trouble resisting urges?
