The reason white wines are supposed to pair well with Chinese food is because white wines aren't as "flavorful" as red wines, and therefore you can taste the flavors in the food...so I would stick to a simple red wine, like a syrah. You can go to Beverages and More and pick up a McManis Syrah and I think it would pair nicely with asian cuisine...or try a Pinot Noir.

A Pinot Noir or Burgundy. The Pinot Noir grape has a lighter body compared to most red wines. It has nice acidity and fruit, but it won't overpower the delicate nature of most fish-based Asian food. I was thinking of Sushi when writing this recommendation.
