Penny...I might, that is the most I can say. I have voted for someone a good answer just because they did not flame anyone or insult anyone.

I've given best answers to those who I disagreed with when I asked for an opinion from a group. If I want to know what Muslims or atheists think I give best to one who explains it intelligently even if I don't agree.

Only if someone else didn't answer the question in a way that you were fishing for. I think most questions, not all, are asked so as to be thought provoking or in a way to stimulate response.
I see Midge mentioned above. She flamed me while also voting me best answer for her question. I must admit I deserved the comment. I was a little abrupt.

If it is something that I honestly believed was wrong rather than simply another opinion, then I wouldn't. If it was another way of looking at something, and someone was not insulting with the way they put it, then yes, I would vote someone a good answer.

NO. I have to agree and it has to be intelligently stated to get my vote.

Most of the questions I've posted weren't to get a 'right' or 'wrong' answer but to get people thinking and see what happens.
So my 'best' will generally go to the most insightful answer, or at least the one that makes me think. I don't have to agree, but I do like to see they have an idea of what I was 'getting at'!
Thank you for asking.

Yes, and I have. It sucks. I actually had somebody vote me best answer once even though he disagreed with me. He said though I answered the question honestly, and made a good case.

If their answer was well thought out, articulate and answered my question - sure.
I would probably comment something alongs the lines of
While I don't agree, I appreciate the time and thought put into your answer.

Yes, I have done that a few times. It's always a little painful when I do it too.
For the record a christian whom I disagree with often on here, Midge, gave me best answer too. I couldn't have been more surprised!

Yeah, I've done that a few times on my questions. As long as they have a reasonable explanation and the answer is coherent, I don't always care if my view is different.
