My husband's elbow started out a month ago with a small itchy bump. As the days went by, his entire elbow kept swelling and swelling. It really hurts now and he can't really move it due to the size of it! He has NO insurance. Ice,warmth,motrin-nothing helps. Does anybody know what could be wrong? He is a landscaper,if that helps:)

He has inflammation in the elbow that may have started from a bump or other injury. It may be that antibiotics or other meds available only by scrip are indicated. Don't wait or he could be incapacitated to the point he has to stop using it and put it in a sling.

it could be bursitis. its the fluid filled sack inbetween the joints and it could be affected from exterior or an interior injury. it should subside or even burst and heal itself... do not drain it yourself ! an infection from outside can be dangerous and even some rare cases fatal. bandage it and keep an eye on it... you should go to a clinic or even if its that painfull and there is a FEVER present dont hesatate to go to the emergency room. but dont drain like i said. they will give you antibiotics. for now just baby the elbow and I would do 15 min. heat 15 min. cold for a few times each day to get the blood circulating the area for a quicker heal.
drink a lot of water watch your salty intake &
take a multi vitamin with something for joints and watch out for fever!
good luck.

Not to fool with. This happened to me and it turned out to be a staff infection. If I didn't get help when I did it would have spread throughout the body and I may have died. Please see a Dr.
