If you are in the "Delayed Entry Program" right now (meaning that you are currently *not* on Active Duty) you have two choices:

1) Ask the Army to release you from your contract in order to sign with the Air Force. This is called a "Selective Transfer" and more than likely, the Army won't approve it since they have a higher need for more personnel right now than the Air Force.

or

2) Inform the Army that you do not intend to ship off or complete your requirements with the DEP program. Now, at the present time, none of the services are enforcing the DEP contracts (it has been the policy of the recruiting commands to discharge those who do not want to volunteer anymore vice forcing them into Active Duty.) Now, this can be a bad choice because then the Air Force may not accept you, since a DEP Discharge from any service requires a waiver to join the service again.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend option 2, I would only go with option 2 if you really do not want to join the Army anymore. Like I said above, the recruiter may threaten you, but if you research "DEP Discharge" online, you'll see that the services themselves state that they would rather not have non-volunteers enlist.

It is possible, but the Army would have to release you from your contract, and that is not likely. Talk to the Air Force recruiter and see if he can make it happen, otherwise.... enjoy the Army, then after your contract try to change over to the Air Force.

If you are not sworn in to duty you can reneg by law. so aim high you only must be sworn in and take the oath at the MEPS depot. If you do that you're in the Army. Oh and Delayed entry program means nothing because you havent taken your second oath. Just like the pres of the US must take 2 oaths, so must you.

you want to talk over along with your recruiter once he or she receives again and enable them understand that you determined that you want to flow to school quite. they could advise that you're taking rotc in college and then from there you are able to flow to consumer-friendly education as an officer. this may advise that you'll be on in the back of time table get entry to application and that you're obligated to fullfill your settlement. the in reality opposite direction is to inform them that you stumbled on out you're literally not qualified using a medical condition like bronchial asthma or that you only like an identical sex as your self.

YES, until you go to basic and they brief you on the UCMJ (uniform code of military justice) you are a free civilian and can do whatever you want. after the briefing of the UCMJ you know military law and can be held accountable.
