My calico kitten is in heat and I need to know what should I do in the mean time. I know that I have to get her fixed, but for the time being, is there anything that I should do to try to make her feel better?

There really isn't much you can do. Petting her more and giving her turkey will help a little. Turkey does the same thing to kittens as it does to us--nap time.

There is not much you can do. You need to give her extra affection. She will continue to be like this every 2-3 weeks until either she is fixed or mates. If you are having a hard time coming up with the money to get her fixed, call your local animal shelter or look on the web for assistance. Good Luck

I went through the SAME thing! Right before Shadow was due to be spayed she went into heat. Luckily she was out of heat within a week and all is well now.
As for your baby, keep her in a relatively quiet environment and give her extra attention. She is uncomfortable too. Let her meow her little heart out and speak to her when she has a meowing fit it ends it quicker than if she is left alone.
Encourage her to rest and sleep as much as possible. A sleeping kitty is peace and quiet for your ears and is relief for her.
Unfortunately there is no "cure" for heat. As soon as it is over run don't walk to the vet and get her spayed! They can and will go into heat every 2-3 weeks ALL year round!
Besides it is not cool to leave her un spayed for multitudes of health and mental reasons.

Do you really want to know what you can do to get her out of heat sooner? I haven't tried it but some say it works.Hold her by the scruff of her neck and you take a thermometer and poke her in the vagina. If your like me and don't want to do that i'd just keep her in the house till shes done.

Rub her by the base of her tail (on her back, not her girly goods). Cats get sexual enjoyment from being stimulated there.
