DWI means you are legally drunk. Driving under the influence means you have consumed enough to impair your ability to operate a motore vehicle. Either way, spread em and put your hands behind your back

DUI - - Driving while under the influence of any chemical-booze, or illegal drugs, or even really too drowzy to drive with prescription drugs. Any of those things can effect how well a person drives.
DWI- - Driving while intoxicated-usually meant with alcohol being involved.
They both basically mean the same. It got changed from DWI to DUI (at least n some states) due to the drugs and alcohol involement with drivers. Plus, finding that some prescription drugs also can have a bad effect when people are driving. That is why it is so vitally important to have a sober designated driver when people go out to drink, etc. Or stay home. Same with drugs or stay home with prescription drugs. Take care.

Basically there is no difference. Most all law enforcement agencies are now using DUI because Driving Under the Influence can mean liquor, medication or illegal substances.

Personally i don't like political callousness in india. Most of the politician are self-interested rather than to safe national interest. For Somanath case is different, he is a egoistic man still he is a good leader, if you see his past record. It is his party responsibility to decide whether Mr. Chartarjee will continue in a same party or he has to quite his membership. I think somanath will jump to some other party, nothing is impossible to such a cheap politician, because everything they can do under the sun, they are doing infact. They are eating public money in the name of nation.

They are the same. Some States use one or the other. Either way you are probably going to jail.
