So your going to get a Golden!
Schedule a vet visit for a new puppy visit, you should do this within the first few days you have the new pup home.
Puppy shampoo
Large breed puppy food. I suggest Nutro chicken large breed puppy
A crate if you want to crate train him
toys to chew on
2 bowls in a low carrier. Golden's love to play in the water, saves your cleaning up puddles
A baby gate
Collar, leash
a small slicker brush to start
nail clippers
Get a good book on dog training
sign up for puppy kindergarden classes
Patients and tons of love

Crate
Dishes x 2 (water & food)
Puppy pads (for accidents in the house)
Adjustable dog collar &/or harness
Leash
Kong toy (any puppy safe chew toy will work)
Tug toy (for play time)
Dog food, dry & can (whatever the breeder has been using is best at least in the beginning. If you chose to feed the pup something else, switch them gradually)
Treats
Puppy Shampoo
Dog brush/Comb

And a vet :)

Well besides the dogs series of vaccines shots not that much. If your golden is a puppy get puppy food (ween off puppy at 10-12 months for a week, half puppy half adult). You can start on heartgard 3-4 months and also safely start at 8 weeks if you like. (it prevents heartworm disease witch is fatal to dogs! They can get this from mosquitos! Heartgard is just a beef chewable once a month). I don't know if you are planning on spaying/girl/neuter,boy. Frontline you can start if you like its for fleas and ticks but i strongly recommend a heartworm preventive! And since goldens have long hair just brush him/her and provide a warm comfortable place to sleep! Have fun!
