I feel that if people found out, previous customers would be very upset. What should I do? He does not know that the security cam showed what he was doing. Should I let him know that I know, should I fire him? Help!

Depends on what the addiciton is. If it is of sexual conotation, you could fire the guy. It sounds like you need to sit down with this guy and let him know that you know about his addiction, and either he gets the proper type of help, or the job is over. Can you as the employer help pay for the help? Is that a regular benefit from your company? If it has something to do with some other part of the job, around chemicals, that is another matter you need to consider if you want to help or not. It sounds like this guy is a good employee, and you are really having a difficult decision to make. Just, please, sit down and talk with him, and go from there. Take care.

Check with your company's lawyer. In your field you don't want word to get out that your employees have addictive habits, especially any that affect the, uh, "customers". Or late customers, as it may be. But you don't want to face a wrongful termination lawsuit either. That could be real ugly and bad for business. Since you caught him/her on film, the evidence should be pretty straightforward and difficult for the employee to deny.

First of all, get you an attorney.....then if need be, call the police. Make sure that authorities that need to know, are notified in order to keep you from being accused of a coverup. Also, until what ever you decide to do with this employee, don't let him work alone, and take the keys from him. Best of luck to you.

If this is serious, and I think I can only imagine what you're talking about, he needs to be fired...immediately. Do what a former employer did to me, just said "It's not working out." Just keep repeating that. He will hopefully know that he's been found out, but will appreciate your confidentiality. And if you give him any kind of recommendation, only state dates of employment and his job title to keep yourself free from liablility. And keep the tapes in case he's bitter.

Best wishes, it's hard to fire people but you gotta do what you gotta do.

You didn't say what he was doing, from the sounds of it, it can't be good. If he is violating a deceased body in any way it's your job as an owner and an employer to let him go. I would be highly upset if someone was doing something funky to one of my loved ones.

Oh dear sweet jesus PLEASE tell me this guy isn't having sex with the corpses????? If this is the case get his butt OUTTA there! you have a TRUST to your customers. They need to know their loved ones will be treated with respect and dignity. I'd also recommend, before you do anything to talk to your lawyer ASAP about what's going on for your protection as well. I'd rather send my departed to a place that cared enough to make sure their dignity was protected.GOOD LUCK and PEACE.

Don't tell me he is making out with the bodies. Yeah, you should fire that creep. How could anybody have no respect for the dead. If you don't want to fire him, call me and I will fire the bum.

You don't say what the addiction is so, either tell him you know and offer to pay for help for him or fire him.

Ask this question on PSYCHOLOGY too. That's creepy. Is it true?
I want to know the addiction before I make any judgement.
