Okay so I am doing a production of Grease and trying out next week. They usually give us a song to sing from the production so what do you think possible try-out songs would be so I could be well prepared...(Kind of aiming for a lead like Sandy, Rizzo or Frenchie)

Most likely Hopelessy Devoted to You or Look At Me, I'm Sandra Dee, because these are pretty much the only female solos. For Hopelessly Devoted to You, you'll need a higher range, and for the latter, practice a lower range, to match Rizzo's. Good luck!

Hopelessly devoted is not in the musical, the last time I directed it. I always think Look at me is good, but if you would like to play it a little safer, "There are worse things I could do" sings itself. It shows range, would give you a chance at any part because you can play it poignant and funny all in the same song. That would be my suggestion.

But if you KNOW Look at me and can REALLY put it out there, go for it. It requires movement, humorous timing and needs backup singers, so it is sometimes hard to do as a solo.

If you are going for Sandy, her solo in Grease was "Hopelessly Devoted" or "Look at Me". If you are going for Rizzo, sing "Sandra Dee" or "There are Worse Things I could Do" because that was here solo. Good luck and have fun!
