I really like this guy at our school. He knows that I like him and I want to talk to him. Prom is coming soon and i don't have a date. I'm a very shy girl and had plenty of opportunities to ask or talk to him. I need some help on how to approach this guy.

Well if he knows you like him, then more than likely he's expecting you to come talk to him, so the pressure's pretty much off. If there's no secret that you like him, then just go up to him and talk to him. Small talk to start, then after a few minutes or whatever, just ask him if he wants to go.
I know it sounds a lot easier than it is, but it's the most effective way. Trust me, even if you are nervous, there's nothing cuter to a guy than a girl who's shy around him.

You always need to think what is the worst that could happen? If you ask him to the prom, the worst that could happen is that he says no, or even that he says no and then tells others. If he does that then you know he's not worth your worrying about. If he says no and keeps quiet about it, what has actually happened? Nothing. You will still be here. Nobody will announce on the radio that you asked him out and he said no, no great bolt of lightening will come down and strike you dead....nothing will happen. But of course, if you don't ask, you'll never know. When we are frightened to ask someone out, just remember that he might be scared too.....someone has to make the first move. |Good luck

I feel your pain. I'm too shy to talk to this one guy...so cute! He has SO many girls chasing him I can't talk to him normally! UGH!
But when I did talk to him like three times I asked him questions and said I worked in the school Newspaper. ( I was desperate!)
I asked him these questons:
ME: 1. In today's volleyball game it's Teachers vs Students who do you think'll win?
He said: Teachers because they taught them you know? They'll know the plan and back-up with a better one.
ME: 2. I'm taking a survey and people say Black is thier favorite color. What's yours?
He Said: Blue. The sky is blue and seems so...free and everywhere.
ME: 3. So when you graduate where do you want to work?
He Said: As a living? In football. Not as a player but as a coach. I like to strategize plans. Anymore questions?
Me: No...
He Said: Okay I have to go, nice talking to you. Later.
Me: Y-yeah....

Don't be a flirt. Never ask a guy out, they will think your a cheap, desperate tramp. If you don't have a date go with a bunch of girls. That's what my sister did and now she's a doctor.

if you know he likes you go talk to him start talking about the prom and then ask him he probaly will say yes

I thought it was the guy who does the inviting...mmm...times have changed. Wait!!! I think guys STILL want to be the aggressor. Let him do the asking .......I know you don't want to hear this, but I am only dtating my humble opinion.

it's best if you just be up front without playing games and be honest with him and yourself. just tell him how u feel and that u would like for him to be your date
