The amount of pigmentation in your skin is the cause. It is a form of self defense your body takes to protect the wounded area form damage as it is new and tender skin. Protection from UV rays of the sun and other types of radiation. This will eventually lighten as the layers of skin beneath the area replenish themselves. You may be able to help it some by using mederma scar cream. I haven't tried it but I hear it's great stuff. It's available at your local drugstore.

It could be a fungal or bacterial infection, an infestation of mites, an allergic reaction, etc. Because treatment differs depending on the cause, the best thing to do is to have your vet do a scraping of the scabs and identify what the cause is so treatment is correct. Wrong treatments applied can worsen these conditions, and what could be eradicated in a matter of a couple days can become a month or more long battle. What is interesting to note is that when someone finally resolves something like this after a month, they will advise you to use the same treatment and rave about how well it worked. You can use a magnifying glass to inspect the areas for presence of creepy crawlies, and get samples to show to your vet if you find any. Zip lock bags make good specimen containers. The only safe treatment I would advise, that won't do harm regardless of the cause, is to cleanse the sores and soften and remove the scabs with sterile isotonic saline from the drugstore. This will inhibit infection and won't irritate or damage healthy tissue. Beyond that, I advise you to have your vet determine correct treatment.

its natural because the cells are already dead. and when that happens its pigment changes. it can get whiter again as soon as your wounds get healed, perhaps there is still a trace of the wounds.
