Lets see... what do cats think about...
1. I wonder when my human will finally get up and fetch me my bowl of Eukenuba (or Iams, or Sheba, or Nutro, or whatever)
2. If I do this... will it get the attention of my human?
3. What she upset for this time... s'truth... humans are soooo finicky! Maybe she's a borderline personality?
4. Oh, look! the neighbor's cats are at it again! Maniacs!
5. Ohhhh geeeezzzz... the neighbor's dog is yowling again for no good reason! Retard!
6. What? What? Was that a squeal I heard? Who did it? Who? Who?
7. As soon as she opens dat door, I am going to dash out and cimb that tree and get dat darn birdie!
8. Oooooohhhh... her hand is sooooo soft and gentle... what a cute human!
9. Is this for me? Whata gooood human!
10. I'm exhausted... I'll just have twenty winks... zzzzzzzzzz
11. Ain't that amazing! She can change her coat at will!!! Clever human!
12. I feel awful... I need my human (sob!)....

I can only comment on mine...
Between thinking about what they would do to the miscellany of animals they see scampering outside (they're indoor cats), they sleep a lot. Other than that, eating and using the litter box occupies their time. I have one that is always trying to divert my attention from the screen...she's walking in front of it now and rubbing up against the tower as I'm attempting to write this...
Well, she's parked herself on the mouse pad now. She seems happier now that she's getting what she wants...attention.

to answer your question......i really wouldn't know.........
as i read your question my cat is in the litter box....so i really dont want to know what she was thinking about at the time
LOL
but on a regular basis my cat loves to look out the window and WATCH.
so i would have to say shes thinking about how she is gonna escape.......what car to take....where the nearest petsmart is so she can rob the fish and rodent section.............
then she will probably make a getaway on the nearest motorcycle she can find and throw her loot on the backseat......and hope she can find her way back home in time for the next episode of of planets funniest animals

Oh confident! each and all of the time lol, it makes me bounce up with fright and say sorry (cats call) and then I understand that's in simple terms between the cats rubber balls that i'm stepping on. it is so humorous while that happens! lol

i have a cat and she is sooo smart she is like a dog fetches sits and when u say come her angel she comes when told and talks to me when i don't even understand her but i answer her !! wow i'm dumb lol
