I've been a non smoker for 14 weeks now, and I can tell you that it does get an awful lot easier.
Well done on getting to 3 weeks, you are through the hard part now - all you've got to do now is to find something else to keep yourself occupied. If you find you are wanting to eat lots, stock the fridge with cherry tomatoes and other salad items you can nibble on - celery sticks or lettuce leaves don't need an preperation. A bag of grapes is good too - anything healthy that you can just grab and go!
If you are wanting to keep your hands busy, why not buy a stress ball or some mini puzzles to fiddle with. You could even take on knitting or cross-stitch if you wanted to.
Keep reminding yourself why you are doing this and the benefits of being a non smoker. Think about how much money you've already saved!
I know its hard, but you CAN do this - and it will get easier.
Best wishes :)

I tried to stop about 6 times and this last time I was successful ... it's been about 5 months. I gained weight but I just realized that it's possible to lose, smoking really messes your insides up in a way that can't be fixed so don't stress about the gain so much cause once you get the smoking under control you can go on some sort of diet. It is worth it. Food will taste better, you can smell a thousand times better, you can walk up stairs without keeling over, save money, etc. etc. I used the Quitting Smoking for Dummies book and it really worked. Good luck and remember that eventually you won't have the cravings.....

It will be worth it in the end. I found it helpful to look up sites about the symptoms and things that happen to your body when you are stopping, it helped to know that other people had gone through the same thing. Ive been stopped now for 2 1/2 years and now I think fags smell disgusting. Keep it up and dont give in.

You could try hypnosis. The person needn't hypnotise you so deeply you don't remember anything. It can be more like relaxation. It's a much more common state than most people realise and not something to be scared of.
No I haven't done it as I am a non smoker, but if you really want to do it it will be a source of a lot of extra strength. Think about it.

Chew on cinnamon toothpicks or chew cinnamon flavored gum. When I was quitting that's what I did. It helped with the cravings. Yes, I was successful. Haven't smoked in 17 years.
