that Darwin (father of evolution) started the idea of evolution and later admitted that it was wrong and returned to Christianity?
I heard this somewhere and I find it interesting...

I have never heard that but I will look into it.

But remember Galileo recanted his finding too. You know the ones about the earth going around the sun and not the sun around the earth. Turns out he was right all along

I guess that was a different situation though Galileo had to recant his truth or the church would have put him to death.

Ok, even if he did, that doesn't make it untrue. It's also known as the Darwin-Wallace theory, because Wallace came up with the same theory. Therefore, Darwin is not the only person who thought this. Every person who thought this did not recant. Also, the theory of evolution had been around before, Darwin just explained a mechanism (in his case, natural selection) on how evolution could work. So who cares if he recanted. Doesn't make the theory less valid. Remember, Galelio recanted too, but I don't think the sun started to drift around the earth when he did.

There is no contradiction between evolution and Christianity unless you insist everything in the Bible is historical and scientific fact.

Why so many Christians believe this is beyond me since literalism makes religion so ugly, but that seems to be what many believe.

Darwin stayed a Christian and an evolutionist until he died.

It's an urban myth attributed to a person called "Lady Hope" (name sound funny? You're right. There is no "Lady Hope.")

If you google Darwin + deathbed you'll see lots of refutation of this myth. His daughter is on record saying it's untrue as well.

It's interesting for a Fundie Xian who's desperate to find some way to discredit Evolution perhaps....but that doesn't make it true.

No. See Darwin didn't come up with it, evolution was before him he just took it further...AFTER he tried to be a priest.

No sure he dont back to Christianity
Cz Christianity is not logic
"Jews crusifed god naked"
where is logic in that
and also too many versions too many translations mean too many errors
Islam is the only one religion who accept logic and sprite at the same time

That's just a sugar-coated lie that Christians invented to try and convert. No, Darwin didn't "recant" on his deathbed.

Does it really matter since evolution is a total fabrication?

No it's not true.
Darwinism and Christianity aren't really the antithesis of each other so that question kindaaaa doesn't make sense.

But anyways
he did marry his cousin. isn't THAT more interesting!?
