Snog someone in front of him. and I wouldn't worry too much, he is probably just after some more honey, he probably aint that into you anymore.

You may like things just the way they are, being friends with him and all, but it won't work out unless you lower the friendship level a little. The closer you are, the more he'll feel like you still love him the way he still loves you. You have to show him that you don't feel that way anymore without hurting him enough that he won't even be able to have a relationship with you at all. You can talk to him about it too, and explain how you feel.

Tell him how you feel, although it may be painful for him to see now, someday he will find someone new. If he is a true freind he will respect you for that and just be freinds. My Ex marc and i are great freinds, and i JUST GOT ENGAGED to another guy. We are happy all together, hes excited for me and so is his girlfreind. He still had feelings for me for a long time and we didnt talk for about a year, but we grew up and got over that part of our lives, moved on and kept in touch. I hope the best for you two as well, i just want you to know it is possible.

OMG..... are we clones or something? - cause I am going through the exact same thing!!!!
I was with my ex for 5 years.... we broker up back in Oct. of 06 - and we are now talking and hanging out as friends....
He still has feelings for me.... but I have been 100% honest with him and remind him whenever we hang out that none of this means we are getting back together..... I think if you lay it out ALL on the table his chances of getting hurt will decrease with time.
But I know what you mean..... cause with my ex - we are having more deep, meaningful, awesome conversations than we EVER had in the whole 5 years we were together!

you can do nothing to change the feelings of another, but you can make sure your actions don't lead him on in any way. You have to establish some distance at least for awhile. Don't use and abuse the guy for your own needs, and absolutely no sex.

Don't call him all the time, and tell him that you are glade that you have found a great friend, and that I hope that one day he can find a great girl friend. and that don't forget me, when you find your girlfriend!

Tell him! Geez, the guy is hoping you will change your mind. Make it clear that it is how you feel and nothing more.
