Yes I always put sugar, and if not sugar then Splenda...I've come to like Splenda more because it takes less to get it as sweet as I want it, and I also add cream or milk when I can.

Yes, but if you have powdered coffee you can spin it with a little milk first and you don't need sugar. Or if I drink Camp Coffee which is a liquid condensed form of coffee you don't need it as it is sweet already. Try camp copffee if you like sweet coffee.

Just one sugar packet to cut the bitterness. I don't have to use sugar if I use flavored creams (live vanilla caramel) though.

i put honey in my coffee. i know that honey is more of a tea thing, but it gives the coffee an interesting flavor.
