How Hard and expensive will it be to convert a 985 sq feet basement into a few rooms? Can it be done me and my husbands self or require profeshionals?We want a laundryroom, a Master bedroom/bathroom and a office.

On one end there is 2 windows im 250ish and i could fit thure em,dont ask how i know this lol

Be sure to check your local building codes and get the permits your locality requires. One thing to keep in mind when you convert a basement into living space...you must have a certain number of windows installed that are big enough for a person to exit through in the event of a fire. You MUST have at least two ways to exit the basement without using the stairs to the upper floors of the home. How do I know this? One of my longtime friends converted his basement into a family room and two bedrooms. He did not have windows big enough to permit people an exit out of the basement. Not only was this against the local building codes, but it caused the death of two of his family members!! There was a fire in the first floor of his house and those people sleeping in the basement had no way to get out!! The stairs were burning and the windows were so small that even a child would not be able to get through them. So be sure you check all local laws and get all required building permits. Otherwise, if you have the skills and the time, you and your husband can do the work. If you don't have the skills, hire a professional to do the work for you.

check out this website, i saw this stuff at a county fair, and it seemed awesome. for the bathroom and laundry room, unless you have water already going to that part of the house, you will need a professional.
