Chewy Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookies

Try this big, soft variation on your old favorite cookie.

Estimated Times:
Preparation - 12 min | Cooking - 10 min | Cooling Time - 2 min cooling | Yields - 24 cookies

Ingredients:

* 3 1/4 cups flour
* 1 cup cake flour, (or 1 cup less 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour)
* 1 teaspoon baking powder
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 1/2 cups butter, (we recommend LAND O LAKES® Butter), softened
* 1 1/4 cups sugar
* 1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar
* 2 eggs
* 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
* 1 package (12-oz.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels, or chunks

Directions:
PREHEAT oven to 375°F.

COMBINE all-purpose flour, cake flour, baking powder and baking soda in a medium bowl. Combine butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl. Beat until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla extract. Beat until well mixed. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels. Drop dough by level ¼ cup measure 2 inches apart onto baking sheets.

BAKE for 10 to 14 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookie

INGREDIENTS
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 cups butter, softened
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 (3.4 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 cups chopped walnuts (optional)
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Sift together the flour and baking soda, set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Beat in the instant pudding mix until blended. Stir in the eggs and vanilla. Blend in the flour mixture. Finally, stir in the chocolate chips and nuts. Drop cookies by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Edges should be golden brown.

Basic Cookie Dough Recipe:

INGREDIENTS:
4 cups sifted flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups vegetable shortening
1/2 cup margarine or butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1tsp vanilla

PREPARATION:
Sift flour, baking powder and salt onto wax paper. Beat shortening, oleo and sugars until well blended, beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour mixture until soft dough forms.
Divide dough into portions and add any or all of the following, or whatever you like:

1/2 cup coconut
1/2 cup pecan pieces
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Add cinnamon, nutmeg, candied fruit, butterscotch, peppermint or other flavoring or combination.
Form into log and wrap and freeze. Slice frozen dough 1/4 inch thick and bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.
