Appendicitis would cause pain on the lower left side of your abdomen. That is the symptom that would be very distinctive of appendicitis. If it doesn't get better very soon, then go see a doctor. If it is just something like the flu, then it should be getting better on its own very soon.

The main symptom of appendicitis is abdominal pain. The pain is at first diffuse and poorly localized, that is, not confined to one spot. (Poorly localized pain is typical whenever a problem is confined to the small intestine or colon, including the appendix.) The pain is so difficult to pinpoint that when asked to point to the area of the pain, most people indicate the location of the pain with a circular motion of their hand around the central part of their abdomen. A second, common, early symptom of appendicitis is loss of appetite which may progress to nausea and even vomiting. Nausea and vomiting also may occur later due to intestinal obstruction. Usually the pain starts out in your stomach then moves down to your side and is very very painful so painful you can barely walk.Your best bet is to go to the ER because if you do have appedicitis your appendex could burst and spread an infection.

I'd suggest you get to the hospital to make sure of what's going on, it could be appendicitis, mine ruptured in the 3rd grade and I had to have emergency surgery and ended up in the hospital for 3 weeks after surgery.

I think you should not have waited until today to wonder if its appendicitis. If you have pain localized in the right lower quadrant of your abdomen, the physician does a couple of test. He pokes his fingers into the right lower quad and lets your abdomen spring back to see if it hurts when it springs. If it does, that is one sign of appendicitis.
Also, stand on your tippy toes and let your heels drop to the floor quickly, if you have pain in your right lower quadrant, thats another sign of appendicitis.
When you finally show up at the doctors office or ER, they will draw a sample of blood. If your wbc's are elevated, that is a sign of appendicitis, then they do a ct scan to look at your abdomen to see if your appendix are inflamed. If your appendix is showing infection, they will opt to removed it.
Never never eat because you think you have to. If you have appendicitis or even colitis. Eating is the worst thing you can do.
Good luck. Call your doctor.

If you have appendicitis, you'll know it! It's so severe that you can't stand up and eating is definately the last thing on your mind! I've been told it's not a "cramp" but like a knife cutting your insides out. Gross....I know, but it's the only way to explain it. If you believe it's a appendicitis you should go to the doctor asap. It's possible to die from it.

Go to the doctor right away...when I had appendicitis, I could not eat or keep anything down. It got so bad i could not even walk...after surgery I realized i had been having attacks on and off for years before the big one hit. Too bad my doctors could not figure it out, kept saying I was having growing pains...
