Most every question I read, or answers I recieve are full of horrid, sensless errors. It's not even about spell check. It's about the command of your words. Did I "miss the buss" on something here? Or do I have a reason to be sad when translating through my own language here on Answers?

Look first to the beam in your own eye. I've counted at least three spelling gaffes in your question. But your point about the deplorable spelling rife on this site is well taken.

Tolerance patience and tolerance.
Realize that not everyone on this site is thoroughly educated. That is why this site is here. Of course you see answers where the person cannot spell and you wonder why they didn't have to brains to use the spell checker before they posted. Questions are asked and you wonder if the person is smoking something. Realize that some of the questions come from people who do no speak English as a native tongue (be tolerant), others are in Elementary school (be patience).
If all this bothers you then don't offer to help these people with your knowledge or advice. But since you are obviously a little more educated than some, please have patience and be tolerant of those who are not and help them to become smarter and wiser. :-)

You have to allow for the atrocious spelling and grammar, because of two things: some people have a lot of difficulty learning these skills, and the education system is no longer "insisting" on basic skills in English and mathematics. Nobody's perfect. Oh, yes, in your question, it's "i before e, EXCEPT after c" in "receive", and a "buss" is a big kiss on the cheek. But don't be sad. Life's too short.

the "busss" has a slow leak in its tire apparently. see, it can happen to anyone.

i'd say 99% of the mistakes in spelling are due to careless typing. folks are in a hurry to get in their answers quickly, and their minds are moving faster than their hands. add in the fact that so many online people today use abbreviations for words as a result of constantly IMing each other, and it's hard not to forgive them for not making the typewritten translation to standard grammar, and correct spelling.

don't be sad that you have to translate others' meaning. in a way, it makes you have to read their answers more carefully. not to give these errors too much credit, but things like this may be 'symptoms' of how english is evolving...

by the way, the spell-check is down again.

I'm with you completely. I recently tried to get help for some of my students who are having real difficulties spelling even though they try their hardest. The result? Spelling doesn't make up enough of a problem to constitute outside help, especially now that things like "Spell Check" are available. I think it's crap, but I'm anal about spelling. I don't guess the rest of the word is. :(

Little errors such as adding an extra 's' to the word 'bus' irritate the crap out of me, but they don't annoy me nearly as much as when you can tell they are just stupid and trying to be "cool" by putting z's where s's go and capitalizing every other letter. Those people should just be wacked with a cane or something, that just ticks me off. I definitely share your frustration.

You don't actually have any mistakes that I can see. Personally, I hate people who can't spell or don't care to. They have no idea of how to use proper grammar, and it makes me sick. What are are school systems coming to?
