i have a two month old and i don't breastfeed but i haven't had my period yet so i am concerned that maybe i am pregnant again but i don't know and don't want to take a test and feel like a fool.

You can get pregnant the first time you have intercourse after childbirth. If you are breastfeeding you can take a certain birthcontrol pill that will not interfere with the breastfeeding.
Every ob/gyn/GP has seen a woman pregnant at her postnatal exam.
It is not advisable to get pregnant this quickly as it is highly likely the 2nd child will be born early.
The closest I personally have known is a woman who conceived her second child 4 weeks after her first then had a placenta previa and had a C-section at 32 weeks for ante-partum hemorrhage.
Her two children were 8 months apart.

You can be pregnant so you should buy yourself a home pregnancy test. It is sometimes easier to get pregnant the second time than the first time. I have a friend who had a baby who was only 2 months old and she was pregnant again for the second time. You may not be pregnant and chances are maybe your not. You should try waiting for another month to find out for sure.

You are more fertile after having a baby, so there's an extrememly high chance that if you have had unprotected sex you may be pregnant.
Why should you feel like a fool...you aren't the only to ever have been in this postion. Just take a test and rule out any doubt!

For one year after child birth, you are 10 times more likely to get pregnant than any other time in your life. Your body may just need slightly more time than other women, and worrying about it and getting stressed may only delay it. Sometimes it just takes a little time for your body to get back into the flow of things, though it wouldn't hurt to go buy a test or see your doctor. If you aren't pregnant, and don't want to be, you need to take steps to try and prevent it by using more than one contraceptive like an IUD, sponge, condom or the pill, foam, condoms, etc. If you are aiming to get pregnant again, best of luck to you.

It's possible. W/o the hormones of bf'ing to supress ovulation you could definitely begin cycling again as soon as your lochia is finished.
I highly recommend charting your fertility signs. Your chart can tell you when you are fertile, when you are not, when you are ovulating, when to expect your next period, and when to suspect pregnancy. Charting can be used for acheiving pregnancy, but it can also be used (very successfully) to AVOID pregnancy.
Some good sources for charting your fertility signs: Fertilityfriend.com (free software as well as a pay-for version and on-line charting turorial); ovusoft.com (discussion boards for many fertility related issues, much info on fertility after the pill, and a very good software for purchase). You can't get pregnant during the first 6 weeks postpartum but after that you very well can. I would recommend taking a test just for good measure.

Yes you can get pregnant immediately after giving birth ... you are more fertile then ever. But it is probably nothing to be worried about. It may take a lil while for you to get your period after you have a baby. My son is 2mths and 2wks and I just started my period for the first time after he was born.

Your not a fool.Yes you can get pregnant quickly after you have a child.I'd say go see your doctor.If you take a home test you could still have the hormone in your system that indicates your pregnant when you might not be.

if you are having unprotected sex, then you can get pregnant -think britney spears.
you can find out if you are pregnant by purchasing a test from the drugstore.
