You have to get a crate to put them in, cover it with a blanket and put them in a dark and quiet room. And stop beating it with a whip. If you don't treat your dog right it will never be worth a crap.
If you have one, why were you asking where to buy one?

The problem is that the owner has not established himself as the pack leader.
Best thing to do is ignore the barking. Yelling, hitting (ridiculous that he is even doing that), or giving the dog any attention while he's doing it is only encouraging the behavior. Put up with it a few nights and it should stop.
And I definately do not encourage getting another dog. If this person is looking for answers on how to care for his dog on Yahoo, then he would not be able to handle a multi-dog household in which one is a pit.

There is a chance that he is lonel. Dogs are pack animals and desire to be with the pack. Are there other dogs that sleep outside with the dog? If not, I would normally consider getting another dog or letting the dog sleep inside. It should subside the barking. But I read your previous question and suggesting another dog to this owner would be making the problem worse. I would suggest getting the dog another home.

First, I'll tell you, don't hit it, doesn't solve a thing and it's cruel.
Is he barking always at the same time? see if there is a noise ( a car starting, a siren, something that is upsetting him, maybe another dog in the neibourhood?)
Consult your vet and try to get him to give you a VERY LIGHT sedative, I am from Argentina, so I don't know the brands over there, that could help him to sleep at night and maybe break the habit of barking at night.
Make sure that he has water and a comfy place to sleep ( I am sure you already do that...!)
Best of luck for both of you.

You should not be hitting someone else's dog or feeding it. Call the police and eventually the owner's will get tired of paying fines and either shut it up or get rid of it.

Okay... so it's not your dog. But it's bothering you? And you've hit it?! That's abusive, and you should never hit your dog or whoever's dog it is, especially for just barking at night.

Try a bark collar, they have different ones out there. There is one that everytime he barks it sprays this substance in its face (of course it doesnt harm him) but he wont like it =) and then there is one that beeps for a warning then shocks him (very low vibration). Ive used the shock one and that worked on my German Shepherd =) Hopefully it will work for you!! =)

You didn't say whether you keep your dog inside or outside. Your dog may be hearing other animals or people walking around and is trying to alert you to that. Try to reassure him that it is okay and he is a good dog.
