you had to hunt, catch, slaughter, gut, and butcher the animal yourself, as in a cow, pig, chicken or turkey? Do you, as you are right now, have the resources or knowledge to do so? I am not looking for veggie bashing here, I am just curious if you would learn the skills needed if meat was not so readily available?

Yes, I would still eat meat. I don't eat red meat (don't like the taste or texture) so that would make it a lot easier. I LOVE seafood (it's the main non-vegetarian food that I eat) so that wouldn't be difficult at all (fishing is fun, and nothing beats fresh fish!). I do like poultry, but I rarely eat processed poultry (boneless skinless unrecognizable grocery crap). I always eat pretty much all the chicken (whether it's from a rotisserie chicken or as part of a big pot of bone-in chicken curry or rice)

If I had to do that, I'd only eat fish and seafood because I don't have the heart to kill a rabbit, chicken, turkey, etc. I'd feel too sorry for the animal and wouldn't eat it. I don't have the skills anyway.

I would learn the skills. I probably would not eat it as often. I am married to a meat lover. He would probably make sure the freezer was stocked with these items. I would have to do some research, but I research everything.

hell no I grew up on a farm. my dad would hatch the chickens and turkey eggs in the incubator i would hold the fuzzy little chicks and then when they were old enough the killers would come in and chop their heads off. i can remember the blood running down the driveway and the smell in the air if i had to do it myself and dispose of all of it no way could i ever do that. but it was damn good eating! lol.

Yes, I would. Survival is a great motivator. I know how to fish. I know how to skin a chicken. I have read how to many of the other things in survival books. You never know what is going to happen, even in our society. I feel it is better to be prepared then to die due to squeamishness. Protein is still our best bet when it comes to survival, but I still want and need my vegetables.

Yes.
Hunting and fishing are my favourite past time activities.
Have never butchered a cattle beast or cow myself, but is a deer close enough.

Of course I wouldn't if I had to do all that. I'd probably just eat soyburgers.

I couldn't kill an animal, so I'd have to become vegetarian.
