they agreed that the first would come back to communicate with the other but there would be a distinct sign that would be given to show it was really them that was doing the communication. Houdini decided he couldn't take the responsibility of destroying so much of the built up structures of oraganized religions.
Houdini did contact his wife and told her to keep their secret.

i heard that too, supposenly whoever died first would try to contact the other, since houdini died first he was suppose to contact his wife, she tried everything, ouija board , spiritist rituals but nothing woked , finally she desisted she was so disapointed
