Because we are all living in this crappy little monkeyed up reality that says, "it's all about me." And it's not all about "me."

Evolution.
To best promote her genes, she needs to establish
a homestead and someone who will protect her
children and help her bring them up.
Once she has done that, she needs to mate with
as many DIFFERENT appealing genes as she can
(that is, once she has established a safe haven, she
has the same genetic motivation as a man).
The woman generally invests much more time and
energy (9 months) in any particular child, so she needs
to make sure that she has infrastructure in place to
make sure that the investment doesn't fail. Once it
is in place, however...
Clearly our genes aren't the only driving motivations
here, but "stepping out" does increase genetic
variety which in turn increases the chance that
some of your genes will live on to the next generation.
By the way, for men, it is far far simpler. Spread the
genes far and wide and let the woman take care of
bringing them to adulthood.

Statistics show that
the majority of women have an affair because the man is not giving them something they need mentally. Unfortunately they have to have sex with these other men to get what they need.
The majority of men have an affair because they are not getting what they need physically or for their ego.
Either way you can still love the person.

Forbidden fruit, they have issues everyone who cheats does. They should work on fixing themselves because they will never find what they really need in the arms of someone other than the one they love.
Or they are lying hoes with no morals scruples or concern?

Not always, sometimes, they do not know what they want. Just like the man, sometimes, they want it all too. and end up hurting the one they love.

They probably think they love them, but they are obviously looking for something more - like attention or to feel wanted again. I think men need to be more attentive and not take women for granted sometimes. not condoning that behavior, but can understand it sometimes.

May be the man is not exciting enough in bed for her, but she loves him despite that and doesn't want to hurt his feelings.
Or she is just being promiscuous
