Make sure the products you are using are pH correct, which is so important to your skin. Our skin is natural about a 7.0 on the pH scale from 1-14. Most bar soaps or anti-bacterial soaps have a higher pH, which helps them to foam and gives you that squeaky clean feeling. People with oily skin especially like this feeling as it dries up and removes a lot of the oil from the skin. The problem is, in oily skin people whose skin already produces more oil than they need, by removing so much of the oil from the surface of the skin, the oil glands are sent a message to produce more oil and it becomes a viscous cycle of over drying the skin with high pH cleansers and the skin trying to defend itself by producing too much oil. In people with a dry skin which does not produce enough oil of its own, using a high pH cleanser such as soap only further dries out the skin. The oil on the skin is there to protect the skin from the environment and helps to combat aging. By using a pH correct product such as Arbonne, you are not sending your skin to extremes but instead are keeping it well balanced.

For Oily skin I would recommend ARBONNE INTELLIGENCE LINE. This is a 5-step system for the skin. It includes a pH correct cleanser that removes dirt and oil without stripping skin of its vital moisture barrier. An exfoliating thermal fusion masque that increases microcirculation and cell proliferation. It is a product that combines the benefits of a scrub and a masque for deep cleaning. The next product is a toner that helps to constrict pores without drying or upsetting the skins moisture barrier. Then an eye cream that is fast absorbing and contains light reflecting properties to help reduce puffiness and fine lines. Finally a day and night moisturizer that self adjusts to your skin and delivers however much moisture you need.

There is a specialty product in this line called a Personalizer. It is designed to absorb oil before you moisturize or apply make up. It helps keep the oil under control as well as keeping your foundation true to its color.

Here are a few other good things for your skin:

Diet affects everything in our bodies. It plays a vital role in how you look, feel and of course how you age.

Eating right to keep your skin soft, glowing and strong at any age:

·Orange/red fruits and vegetables: can include tomatoes, squash and carrots- these are packed with beta-carotene, which is an antioxidant that is essential for healthy skin, scalp and mucous membranes.
·Shellfish and fish: try salmon, crab, shrimp and lobster- contain astaxanthin, an extremely potent antioxidant that protects your skin from the damaging environment, helps prevent age spots and wrinkling.
·Nuts and seeds- these are rich in vitamin E which helps protect the skin from sun damage
·Citrus fruits- such as oranges, grapefruits, are high in Vitamin C. It is essential to collagen production, and it is the collagen that gives connective tissue strength and resilience.
·Unrefined whole grain- these could be wheat, barley, oats and rye- all contain silica, a mineral that helps to repair damaged skin, hair and nails. Silica helps to strengthen collagen and elastin.

Anti-Aging Super- Foods:
Top pick for this category include any deeply pigmented fruits and vegetables. This includes tomatoes, spinach, cabbage, broccoli, berries and grapes, garlic, onions, green tea, soybean, cold-water fish and spices such as turmeric, cinnamon and cumin.
All of these are very rich in PHYTOCHEMICALS. These are the molecules that give the food the striking color, taste or smell. Their responsibility is to defend the plants against infection and environmental damage, and in humans they have shown to have anticancer activity. And, just like antioxidants, they help protect the body against harmful free radicals and vascular disease.

These foods also contain omega-3 fatty acids. These fatty acids help lower cholesterol, improve insulin sensitivity, reduce inflammation and facilitate weight loss. Dark leafy greens, cold water fish and soybean are an excellent source of omega 3 fatty acids.
They are also considered “hot” foods – they help the body burn calories in the form of heat, just by eating them.

Three key elements to help your skin look its best:

·Avoid the damaging sun: with 90% of aging caused by environmental damage and sun exposure, ensure that you wear a product that contains a broad-spectrum sun block, and use it every day. Harmful sunrays penetrate clouds…so sun block is needed on cloudy days as well. Arbonne uses the latest in sunscreen technology in their day creams to ensure that you are protected from both the UVB and UVA rays.
·Practice good skin care: Using skin care products incorrectly can cause problems later in life. Learn how to remove make-up, and apply sunscreen to let skin breath. Follow up with exfoliation to encourage skin cell turnover, and finish with a light moisturizer to protect the skin’s water barrier.
·Don’t mix brands: With hundreds of skin care products launched each year, it’s no wonder that many of us try the latest products…however that can lead to skin irritation and the development of sensitive skin. Skin care products need time to work, and as your body becomes accustomed to the formulas …you will see benefit. Each brand develops products to work together for best results. Pick a brand and stick with it.

I too had oily skin. Try this out:

Let's break the day up.
Morning:
Fill a sink with HOT water. The hotter the better. Add a good amount of Epsom Salt.

I soak my face for about 90-120 seconds coming up for breaths about every 20 seconds. Your face will feel great, and won't be oily. I then jump into a nice hot shower.

Mid day or after work/school or whenever you have time:

Do another soak same as above, at about half the time. This soak is not as important, but if your face starts getting oily this is very good too do.

At night before bed:

Same soak as morning.

Also at least every other night I do an aspirin mask. Go to the store and pick up a bottle of UNCOATED aspirin. That's very important. Pick up a container of PLAIN yogurt and a lemon.

1.I have a little bowl/cup to mix in.
2.I take less than a spoonful on yogurt and place it in the cup.
3.You'll find out you don't need much yogurt.
4.I add 7-9 aspirin to the yogurt.
5.Just let it sit a few minutes and the yogurt will dissolve the aspirin and you'll be able to mix it really easy.
6.Cut that lemon you got into 4 pieces and squeeze some juice into your mixture.
7.Mix.
8.Apply to face with small circular motions. This helps to start exfoliating. Exfoliating is aimed at unclogging a clogged pore before it moves into the pimple stage.
9.You have to figure out how long it's ok to stay on your face. I found 15 min for myself is a good amount of time. If your face hurts well then your leaving it on for too long. Moisturize your face if this happens with Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion. Or something else that will not clog pores.
10.When removing the mask again use small circular motions to promote exfoliation.

Aspirin mask should also help dull your red pock marks. You can also add some honey or whatever else you would like to mix. Add anything that is good for the skin.

Yeah this is a little crazy regimen but hell my face has never looked or felt better in the last 7 years. Many other people reported a major break out around week 2-3 but after that it should be good. It took around a month for me to really start seeing the best effects. Just don't give up on it and I'm sure it can help you.

Oh yeah, change your diet. Stop eating grease, try and stay away from soda.

There's no cure for oily skin. But if you use the right type of moisturizer and oil control films, you can control the oiliness of your skin. Find a moisturizer with good oil control. Make sure you have someone helping you choose if you dont know how to. If you still have problems with your skin, you need to go to the dermatologist. Also, wash your face with facial soap/ face wash, not with water.

I have quite oily skin too.. Good thing about that is that you dn't age as fast as others so bare that in mind.

However if it's in excess u need to take a good look at your diet... We deposit toxins through our skin (pores) mucus (snot) hair follicles, ears etc not just our ****... If your digestive system was at an optimum u probably wouldn't be like this...

I suggest you look into going into a fast so you can give your body a break in processing all the kinds of foods you consume...

But for the here and now you could drink dandelion tea in large quantities.

i have oily skin. i wouldn't say it need to be cured but there are lotions out here that reduce oil on the face and minimise it from looking 'shiney' such as Garnier A. i used to use this but i now find that washing your face with hot water every morning and afternoon helps just as good. make sure u don't use oil based moisturising cream either.
but i did read somewhere that having oily skin keeps u looking younger, which is great!! ur skin doesnt dry out as quick and doesnt need a lot of moisturing.

You can't cure oily skin, that's the way it was created so you're stuck with it. You could try cosmetics designed to reduce excessive oil and shine but you'll never cure your skin. Personally I find a little talc spread evenly on my face helps, but that only works if you have pale skin!

As far as i know there is no way to cure oily skin(I've tried) but have learnt from experience that drinking plenty of water, not over cleansing, using a light moisturiser and trying not to touch your face too much all help.
