The best thing is soup with soft things like noodles served at a nice hot temp or anything freezing cold (IE Popsicles ice cream ..etc,). The combo of the two will really make you feel better because it well relax and then numb the pain at least for a little while. Stay away from foods with a high acid content like orange juice or citrus based things also try honey either in tea/hot water or just off a spoon.

Anything that you can digest easily with very less fat content. Soup, broth, yes hot drinks. Try curing the sore throat by gargling with warm water or mouth wash. You can find some good home remedies at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html

A good temporary remedy is a teaspoon of straight lemon juice. I had a sore throat and raspy voice once and this helped immediately. It only lasts a couple hours though.

Take 400mg of ibuprofen every 4 hrs and that should make your throat stop hurting unless you have something like strep. As far as foods go, stick with soft stuff like soups, Popsicles, jello, juice, etc....so you don't scratch or irritate your throat any further. Hope you feel better soon.

If you have the sore throat that makes it hurt to swallow (swollen glands), try dissolving one or two uncoated aspirin in a teaspoon or less of water and gargle. Spit it out so you can do it again if you need to. You will then have a few minutes to eat and drink without pain.

Actually cold drinks like lemonade would help soothe your throat. I recommend salt and water. Just don't swallow it. Mix salt and water till you don't see anymore clear areas. Take in a mouthful, gargle for 30seconds to one minute then spit it out. And as for food i reccomend soft foods like poridge, and bread.

Broth. I like salty broth. So like beef broth or boullion. Some ice cream is nice too, but you may not want to bother your stomach if you are feeling crappy. But if you can handle it, ice cream and jello.

fresh pineapple with light or mild rhum. Can treat with few meals of pancakes, but hot steam of millet dish seems working faster.
