Okay, why would you take the chance of these babies growing up in horrible conditions with parents that might be abusive or troubled? They then could turn into their parents and burn in hell. So why would you not want it to have a direct route to heaven? Also, aren't you possibly condemning people to hell if you preach to them? Wouldn't it be better if you didn't that way their ignorance would save them from the depths of hell?

Babies are born with the intention of living a life in this world. If a women decided to abort the pregnancy then it is not the fault of the child, therefore they are given a place in heaven. as they have not done anything wrong to be given hell. they are sinless.

abortion is condemned in religions because it is not desirable. religions state that the baby regardless of the way it was conceived should be given a chance of life, as they have directly not done anything wrong.

you said "why take the chance of these babies growing up in horrible conditions? " but how do you know they will have horrible conditions? in this day and age why should they have horrible conditions? God gives life, and each individual is different, it is not necessary that the child will have the same personality as their parents. every soul deserves a chance.

In my humble opinion these "Christians" believe they are doing the right thing and that is how they interpret the Bible. These souls return straight back to their creator and no harm is done. No suffering. I do note that it is mostly men who push the theory that abortion is wrong. Hmm they don't have babies but are quick to help make them...Religion has its good side but like eveything else it has been put to man's interpretation. Certain churches push certain agenda's. Does not mean that religion is bad. I think they are misguided. If you do deep study you will see that the soul usually does not enter the body until about the 4th month. I am not stating my case for or against abortion. Every person has the right to make their own decisions and not be beat up or murdered if someone does not agree with you. I answer back It is NOT OK to murder someone because they believe in abortion you are worse than the ones you are condeming. Kinda funny if you ask me. Of course Mark Twain said commonsense was not common!

Because in the past, aborting a baby meant you were nuts, because the life expectancies for babies were much lower than they are now, with modern medicine. So a woman might have 10 kids, but only have 2 grow up and live to see their 21st birthday.

Hence why religion pushed having more and more kids, to really propagate the earth and keep the human race going. Plus, kids were useful for helping out on the farm and other household chores, and bringing in wealth to the family by marrying other girls from richer families.

Now, with the population spiraling out of control, abortion is becoming an answer for a lot of people who are troubled, etc. But Christians don't believe in birth control or abortion, as a throwback to their ancient pasts.

I've asked that too. So far, no satisfying answers.

I think it's because deep down, people realize that murder is wrong. There are, naturally, those who don't recognize this, but the average Christian is not willing to do what it takes to send souls to God.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that deep down they know that the concept of the Christian god is wrong, but they must be aware that there is something wrong with the religion. That would make them not even contemplate murdering babies or having abortions (which may or may not be the same thing).

So, while logically, the best thing a Christian can do is to kill all children before they have the chance to learn about God and possibly reject him, Christians are actually better than that. They realize that God's law is not the best law for us, so they allow children to be born and possibly become heretics. Many Christians do value life over their god, after all.

We don't know that they go directly to heaven. No one knows for sure what happens to the souls of the aborted. But obviously God thought life was important. He told us to be fruitful and multiply. He wouldn't have said that if it were better to have not been born.

It must not be just "going to heaven" but the relationship with God that is necessary. If it were that simple, then we'd have to say why not just kill everyone at birth and save them all the trouble?

Nice try though...that was my exact argument when I was pro-choice. It sounds good on the surface but if you were to do any real deep thinking about it you'd realize that there is more going on then that.

Aborted babies don't go to heaven. They die, and cease existance. End of story. You murdered some one, and that some one does not have a chance to do good or bad.

Next issue...
We are not condeming people to hell when we preach to them for a few reasons:
1) Hell is metaphorical
2) It is the other person's choice to accept or not accept
3) We don't want to have people who died without a chance to acccept, so we preach. This way it won't bother our conscience. Plus it is a bible commandment to preach to others.

Wait a sec. Babies' souls do not go directly to heaven, instead thay go to a place called LIMBO, which is likened to a waiting area waiting until the end-times in which the messiah, Jesus Christ will come again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Abortion is a mortal sin. It is killing a person. To add wight to that context is it is killing a totally defenseless and inncocent human being.

Why its better to let the baby live. If you have faith, you know the time will come taht your suffering will be gone. If you would think about it, God knows it already; and God has his own plans for the child.

Have you heard the story of a boy and the starfish?
"When the tides are low, a boy came to the seashore. There were many starfish. A man came to pass and asked about the boy who is picking starfishes and throwing them back to the sea. The boy answered, 'Even if im never gonna be saving them all, at least i have channged some lives of these starfish, giving them them chance to live again.'"

So, if you were the boy , and the unborn children were the starfish, what would you do?

Preaching to other people makes sense, because even if the person would change. It is better to see yourself helping people look for their own path than seeing yourself just watching over.

P.S. I am a Catholic

About 90% of fertilised ova abort naturally either before implantation or shortly afterwards. The women involved are usually unaware they have conceived. The abortions done by human intervention are a drop in the ocean by comparison.

Why are anti-abortionists so hypocritical? Many will claim sanctity of life for foetuses but happily support capital punishment - which is barbaric.

Christians protest against clinics because abortion is killin the baby, but 'going directly to heaven' means when a baby die naturally not by being killed or aborted

2007-03-03 07:34:56 · answer #10 · answered by Question-2-Answer 2 · 0 0

Christianity says that everyone on earth has "original sin", which is our inheritance of a sinful nature from Adam. The sinful nature originated with Adam and is passed down from parent to child. As christianinty preaches creationism we are all children of adam, and each one of us when coinceived bears his sin apparently.

Christianity, and the catholic church specifically, believe that we must complete good deeds to counteract our original sin. Sort of like the idea of karma. When a baby dies in the womb from abortion it has not been given a chance to commit a good deed and therefore it apparently must go to hell. Chrisitians do not believe aborted babies go directly to heaven is the main answer. That is one reason christianity is against abortion.

Also the bible states that as god is the only one to give life, he is the only one to take it away. By people tampering with gods work they are obstructing gods will. Chrisitans fear tampering with god will.

Murder in the bible is stated as the prevention of life. Abortion is murder as seen in the eyes of the Catholic church and nearly all christian establishments. It is stated in the ten commandments as given to Moses, thou shall not kill.
