If you were really wanted to be with a woman that you worked with - both of you are in managerial positions - and then she asked you for a fwb - would you turn her down because you'd be afraid of ruining your work relationship?

Yes, turn her down. Turn her down flat. It's a very bad idea to get involved with someone at work. We have several young men at work that all thought they were getting a fwb with a couple of our female co-workers. Everyone of them thought they were the only one and no strings attached. Now several of them are wondering who all is going to get fired, who's the baby's daddy, and why are they itching and burning everytime they go to the toilet.

and fwb is what? Edit: Some people want more than a physical relationship and although one may be physically attracted to a person, they won't persue any sort of relationship unless they feel emotionally attracted as well. I do at least... must be the reason why I spend loooong periods of time between any relationships...

Yes. Even if you are friends now, adding the "benefits" will change the relationship. I promise you, it will. And it will make your work relationship more complicated.

I can see where it would be hard to turn down the offer of a FWB relationship ... but in the case where you have a professional relationship ... you need to.

I would not pass up such an opportunity. Here every man has to know himself, because if you have a tendency of being disrespectful with people who end relationships with you than it may not be a good idea, but if you don't hold grudges, than I say why not. Nevertheless the woman may hold a grudge, but I would take that risk.

What is an "fwb"? "Friends with Benefits"?

Ultimately, the question comes down to the same
as if she was potentially a lover - the "just sex"
relationship almost always becomes something
else after awhile, or it drifts apart.

However, the world is filled with people who
are happily married and met their spouses AT WORK
as managers.

The problem comes when one works for the other.
