Why do they give free bibles?

I just saw an add to a site to fill a formular to get a free bible, in this case a book of mormons, and of course i couldn`t resist, i filled it with the white house`s address lol. but the question is why are they giving free books?

So they will get your address and come knock on your door, have a talk with you right in your living room, convincing you must give up your wealth, donate all your possessions to the Church in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven because it is harder for the rich to enter Heaven, so says the Bible.

Once you join them you will start paying tithe and donation.
You feel guilty after receiving a free gift, so you have to contribute something back. In return, they will receive more than the cost of the bible itself.

Similarly, travel brochures are also given out free so that you may start paying for the trip.

They give out free Bible so it looks like a Christian Org.

Beware, they feel they are modern day Saints, but Jesus foretold us all things, so there is no need for any thing new. Jesus told us all we needed to know back in his day. The only thing that has changed are the actors! And some of those actors are wolves in sheep's clothing! Don't forget Jesus said "Not all those saying Lord Lord will enter into the Kingdom of the Heavens" They will say didn't we speak in your name?, didn't we expel demons in your name? Didn't we do powerful works in your name? And then I will say to them, get away from me you workers of iniquity.

People are more likely to read them if there isn't any obligation ($$). The LDS church is giving away both books to try help people rediscover religion and spirituality. Plus alot of people haven't really read either.

Maybe that's why Christianity's numbers are declining. People are getting Bibles for free and are actually reading them .

They want to spread the Book of Mormon. Like how Jehova witnesses go to your doorstep and talk to you about the bible. Its all to try to convert you.

Pretty simple, actually, ... to get out the word on their religion. The same reason missionaries are sent out. Nothing sinister, nothing different than someone giving away trial size shampoos.

I think they give bibles in order to observe God´s word ( those who believe in God) and also to accomplish Jesus command that said: ""Go and share the good news (gospel) all over the world""

Many organizations give away free bibles because they want others to see what they believe. They feel that once others read it, they'll want to believe the same way.

i'm not morman, but i am a christian! people give out free bibles so that others can get gods word for free and its no charge! that way if the person who recieved the free bible desides not to read it and accept god into their heart, than they lose nothing but god's everlasting gift!
