San Francisco is a good place to go during the summer (during the winter they have pretty crummy weather).
Being from the midwest, I don't want to spend my summer somewhere it's hot, so I like places like Boston, Seattle, NY, Washington DC. Then I save the warm places for the winter.

depends on which part you want to go to and ages of your kids, how much time you have and how much money. I'm on the east side and my favorite spots are
outer banks of NC
Florida several places there
Niagara Falls in NY/Canada border
Luray caverns Va but you got to be healthy and small to walk Thur the caves
Ocean city NJ
NYC
under water tunnels of VA over by Richmond
I heard the grand canyon is nice
Nashville TN
Have fun on your vacation To get the most of it research the area you chose. I got small kids so last year I took them to the outer banks there was a aquarium and the ocean and then we went to the under water tunnel then to the free zoo in Richmond then to Crayola crayon factory in Philly Pa where u can go to another place for free. They get bored easy riding so we don't stay in one place long. I like to stop at the welcome centers of each state and look for stuff to do. There is alot of fun stuff that nobody knows of out there talk to the people at the welcome centers they have lots of information if your going by car. We even tent it some times just for the fun of it.

It relies upon on the guy. in my opinion i love the snow, so i might want to bypass to enormous apple. And sense you're saying it by no potential snows the position you stay, does no longer that advise that you've already spent Christmas in summer-like climate? Or a minimum of heat climate. try something new, bypass someplace it snows.
