I have no idea what is going on with my 6 month old kitten but recently (within the last few days) she's been moaning some VERY deep and loud moans. is she going into heat?? i havn't neutered her yet because they told me I should wait till she's around 6 months so i am having her neutered within the next 2 weeks. i'm just not sure if there is something else wrong with her. she has been going to the bathroom quite a lot and mainly peeing. she doesn't drink a ton of water (or at least what I see her drink). Do you think she could have some time of bladder infection that causes her to moan in pain?? she doesn't moan when she's sleeping or whenever I pick her up and cuddle with her. I dont think she's lonely or anything but maybe she wants even more attention??? AH! I don't know! please help if anyone has any ideas! I'm sure my kitten will feel a lot better if I knew what really was going on! :) THANK you!

It sounds like she's in heat, yes. Especially if she's also rubbing herself on stuff. Be very careful to make sure she doesn't get outside - cats in heat will do almost anything to escape and find a mate.

However, going to the litter box a lot can be a sign of a UTI (urinary tract infection). How much does she pee when she goes? If she goes much more often than normal, but then only pees very small amounts, it's likely to be a UTI. (She could also be in heat and have one at the same time...)

6 months is pretty late for a spay, though - females can start going into heat as early as 4 months. So it could also just be that. You'll need to take her to the vet asap anyway - mention your concerns, and he can check her out before doing the spay.

I inherited an older cat who has all her plumbing. She makes the low, loud moan when she is in heat. Any easy way to tell if she is in heat is if while you are petting her, pet around the base of the tail. If she crouches down and raises her tail toward the motion, she's in heat. Not to be graphic, but it mimics the actions of what a male cat would do.

We have had cats in the past who were prone to urinary infections. If there are only a few drops of urine in her box after she has gone, it is very likely that she has an infection. We had a special diet for our cat who was prone to UTI. Science diet made the food.

Since you are planning to neuter your kitten soon, call the vet and describe her symptoms. They may move up your appointment, which would help you and your kitten feel better in the long run.

It sounds like it could be serious. You should take your kitten to the vets. Its better to be safe then sorry. Or maybe she is having trouble adjusting? Or wants a friend? I have never had a female cat so i wouldn't know if she would be going into heat, but even if you don't take her to the vets before you get her neutered, you should mention it to the vet when you get there. I hope she is ok!

It's very likely she's going into heat; females go into heat around 5 months of age depending on the various conditions of her environment. Check with your vet to be safe. keep her inside and get her spayed.

it somewhat is terrific to maintain cats interior, confident. quite whilst you're close to roads (autos) and fields (coyote and fox breeding grounds). Indoor-exterior cats, on easy, stay to be 5. Indoor cats stay to be 15-20 on easy (or longer). you're additionally staring at triple the vet charges (probable) in case you enable your cat out. as nicely it being extra advantageous to your cat, in case you have an activity interior the ambience, indoor-exterior cats at the instant are not sturdy for the atmosphere. A single cat is expected to kill around 1000 small animals a year. they're very damaging animals and an invasive species. i'm uncertain why people value the "wildness" of a cat over the lives of such dissimilar animals whilst indoor cats could nicely be in simple terms as chuffed provided they have exercising and interest. Edit - it somewhat is accessible to coach maximum cats to basically stay in a fenced-in section. Cats are trainable, in spite of rumors they don't look to be, it in simple terms takes persistence - various it. i might nonetheless not propose letting her out unsupervised, although. regardless of if she maintains to be interior the backyard in any respect circumstances (not likely regardless of if she's ok-knowledgeable; probability is she'll take off a minimum of once or twice), animals like fishers can recover from fences. i'm uncertain in case you be attentive to what a fisher is; this is an animal that feels like an prolonged wolverine which could scale wood (not to show fences!) and kill a cat in 5 seconds flat. different cats could additionally recover from the fence and attack YOUR cat. I see not something incorrect with going exterior jointly with your cat for supervised visits interior the backyard. according to danger carry a e book out and take a seat in a backyard chair. yet leaving a cat out unsupervised is inquiring for situation. she will have the capacity to not get fats in case you save her lively by potential of twiddling along with her and feeding her a suitable weight loss plan. exterior cats could nicely be fats too!
